Pilates Plateaus Suck
So I've been doing Pilates three times a week for months now and it's like my body hit a wall. No matter how consistent I am, the same exercises feel like grinding gears in a machine that forgot how to learn. You think muscle memory would carry things forward, but suddenly every rep feels like fighting quicksand. I'm not alone in this, right? It's not just me being lazy or doing it wrong. There's this weird disconnect where the mind knows what to do but the body's like, 'nope, not today.' Any other Pilates folks out there feel this? How'd you break through?
Does anyone else mix Pilates with yoga stretches?
I’ve been doing Pilates for a few months and recently started adding a few yoga stretches into my routine—like holding a downward dog after the hundred. It feels looser on my hamstrings, but I wonder if it’s messing with the original form. Do others blend them, or should I stick strictly to the mat work? My balance has gotten better, but I don’t want to养成 bad habits.
