I've been trying to catch a decent sunrise over the mountains for months. Today I finally got it. The clouds were in the right spot, the light was perfect... it all just came together. I was up at 4am to get to the spot on time, and it paid off. The photo I got is exactly what I've been aiming for. Now I just need to figure out how to edit it without ruining the natural light.

Ran [Vampiric Tutor] in a Modern tournament thinking it was legal because... I don't know ?? Stupid assumption based on what a friend said years ago. Judge slapped a game loss on me right after I cast it... should’ve known better. What even were my chances of drawing anything useful after that????

This deck was built around the premise that it wasn’t a Vintage-only card. Wasted two weeks fine-tuning it. Anybody else drop like 500 GP in a format because someone spilled you bad intel?

Let me just say... if you ever hike with a DSLR in Japan, pin that damn lens cap to your jacket. I left my 70-300mm lens exposed at the summit during a storm. Water spots ruined 300+ photos of sunrise... but the real sin? I kept shooting instead of checking gear first. Now I have a dozen backscatter portraits from my phone. Anyone else prioritize aesthetics over prep? What’s your dumbest gear failure? (Will upload recovery edit later. Battery dies at 90% always.)

Confess: I accidentally sold a Black Lotus on TCGPlayer as a Commons listing?? Total brainlet move. Let me backtrack. A friend gift me a sealed Japan black lotus (non-foil) for my last trip there... worth ~$25k IRL. Stuck it in my Modern deck for a casual kitchen table game... THEN packed up my binder in a TCGPlayer-branded box during an event. Six hours later realized it was in my collection storage... not my tournament deck.... Why? Overcompensated from camera gear anxiety obviously. You’d think photographers are meticulous?? At least Black Lotus isn’t cursed now... but my wallet feels empty. Anyone else fumbled 7-digit value plays like this?
