Bourbon Barrel Finishes vs Scotch Wine Cask Finishes
I've been experimenting with different whiskey finishes and I'm curious to hear from others about their experiences. Specifically, I've been trying to decide between bourbon barrel finishes and scotch wine cask finishes. I've had some great results with bourbon barrel finishes, especially with the vanilla and oak notes they bring out. But I've also heard great things about scotch wine cask finishes, particularly with the fruit and spice flavors they can add. Has anyone else had experience with these types of finishes? What are your thoughts on the pros and cons of each?
