Frustrated with my shelter build

I just spent the entire day trying to build a decent shelter in the woods, and I'm still not satisfied with the result. I've been watching all these videos and reading tutorials on survival skills, but it's just not translating to real life. I mean, I can start a fire, no problem, and I can find edible plants, but when it comes to building a shelter that can actually withstand the elements, I'm just not getting it. I tried using the lean-to method, but it keeps collapsing on me. And don't even get me started on trying to find the right materials - it's like the trees are just not cooperating with me. I'm starting to think that I'm just not cut out for this whole survival thing, which is pretty frustrating because I've been putting in so much time and effort. Has anyone else had trouble with building shelters? What are some tips or tricks that you've found to be helpful? I'm really looking for some advice here because I'm at my wit's end.
