Fashionably Climate: Are Protest T‑shirts just a Marketing Tactic for the Metagame?

Just ran across a new line of "Eco-Brew" hoodies at last week's climate-protest march. They're billed as "carbon-neutral" yet the cotton is sourced from a monoculture farm that relies on synthetic fertilizers we're trying to eliminate. The company claims the garment is "100% recyclable," though polyester blends are practically indigestible and end up in our oceans. What's more, the marketing team used a mock Magic: The Gathering deck build to say "every outfit is a spell" that can swing the world—ironically, while the apparel is still made in high-CO2 factories. Updated: I checked the company's site and they at least offer a take-back program for recycling... not sure how effective it is though.
