LTP in hippocampal CA1 neurons requires NMDA receptor activation

lol tbh so i was reading about synaptic plasticity and i just replicated an experiment on LTP in hippocampal CA1 neurons. used a combination of theta-burst stimulation and APV to block NMDA receptors. results show LTP induction is significantly reduced without NMDA receptor activation. pretty cool imo. anyone else worked on this? what are your thoughts on the implications for learning and memory
