According to the supposed “Carbon Crisis” Commander guide, the deck wins when the board’s cumulative CO₂‑equivalent reaches 450 ppm, which the author equates to the IPCC RCP8.5 pathway.

The deck’s synergy – Gloom (U) + Flooded Strand (R) – is described as a model of the feedback loops found in CMIP6’s 1.5 °C scenario.

This is utterly inaccurate:

• RCP8.5 is a worst‑case high‑emission scenario; it never attains net‑zero, let alone a tidy 450 ppm threshold.
• Magic cards have no defined CO₂ metric; the “Mana‑to‑CO₂” conversion rate of 1:2 is pure invention.
• CMIP6 scenarios are climate models, not game mechanics. Linking them to card abilities is a pseudoscientific stretch.
