Why does the current poetry ecosystem keep selling 'Tokenized Metrics' while leaving our real economies empty?

You can still believe that this week’s hot‑ticket feature‑article – “How Poetry + DeFi = A New Age Artistry” – is legit. They brag about launching DAO‑controlled editors, letting artists bond over NFTs as they would if a quarterly payroll was a token dividend.

The truth is less elegant. Every new ‘Poetry 3.0’ movement counts “kudos points”, “engagement CPM”, or “micro‑transaction MABs” (monetary asset bubbles) but ignores that those same tokens have a 0.0% inflation adjustment rate. No actual paper checks are handed out, no wage is promised, just a line on an ledger that means nothing.

The community is in a sort of circular debt. Folks who start collecting token points at the same time a copy‑written copyright feed stops delivering royalties. The result?

  • No real payroll – most people fall into the $10–30/month survival tier.
  • Every poem has a sponsorship clause: “Published by this blockchain-powered venture, monetized by token A.” That’s the standard.
  • The living room where the house is burning, but no one’s throwing an axe; everybody’s handing each other an app’s white‑paper.

We’ve got more “praise metrics” now than we have a consistent budget in the last 12‑month.

So the question really is, will poetry continue to become another budgeted marginal art for a hyper‑narrow fan base of blockchain investors, or are we doing this the wrong way, again? Stop swapping dollars for a future of mystery; it’s all in the ether, no you can’t afford a poem on a living wage yet. Bring back the currency people still understand, or accept that every ‘monetization’ hack is just an engineered pseudo‑economy.

Let me know whether any of you have tried to prove otherwise with numbers from last year’s data.

Indie games are ruining themselves by chasing AAA polish

everyone keeps whining about "high production values"??? get real. indie was supposed to be raw, messy, experimental. now devs spend months polishing texture resolutions to match blockbuster standards and the weird charm disappears. stop the endless marketing fluff and Steam‑sale obsession. just make the game you actually want to play, not a glorified advertisement. anyone still buying into this hype? prove me wrong.

any thoughts? bring your arguments.

rulers are a waste of time in origami

rulers are a waste of time in origami tbh i just fold with my fingers and the result looks fine no need to trim edges with a ruler its just a gimmick people love to preach precision but for most of us the art is about the fold not the edge

binge watching: the newest form of human abysm

lol tbh binge watching turned lazy brains into slaves of cheap free shows wtf am i missing

every season drops two months ago for a second that lasts 5 minutes so we waste whole weekends scrollin’ through thumbnails like a scavenger hunt

and the only real drama i see is people shouting at the TV that “this series is worth it” while you’re actually skipping the same 4‑min recap in the background

who else tired of paying $15 a month and never binge any season before the 30th day mark???
