just solved a cold case from years ago

i was going thru some old news archives and stumbled upon a case that always bothered me. guy went missing in the 90s and they never found the body. turns out i was looking at it from the wrong angle. found a connection between the victim and a known offender in the area. not sure if its concrete evidence but its a lead imo. anyone else have experience with cold cases? what are some resources i can use to dig deeper
