i've been working on a new track and i'm looking for a good music production software to use. i've been using ableton but i'm open to trying something new. what do you guys use? i'm looking for something with good workflow and a user-friendly interface.

so i was tweakin my mix rn and i realized i forgot to sidechain the drums to the bass lol what a huge diff it made. now my tracks dont sound so muddy imo. i was usin a pretty basic setup, fabfilter pro q and compressor, but it did the trick. anyway just thought id share my little win for the day

I'm stuck on whether to use analog synths or digital ones for my bass lines. Analog feels warm and punchy, but digital lets me tweak parameters instantly and offers a lot of presets. so i’ve been mixing for years and still cant decide if the whole analog‑tape hype is worth the hassle i’m using a decent a/b setup: digital synths straight through stock saturation vs a cheap tape plugin chain the tape side sounds warm but also adds muddiness and the cpu cost is annoying i hear people swear by analog gear, others say its just marketing any hardcore producers got solid reasons to ditch the tape emulation entirely, or is there a real sonic benefit that survives the final master also, does sample rate matter for the tape vibe tbh i’m leaning to ditch it but not sure

Got the idea for a new beat that kinda mirrors the layering and the slow progress of kimchi. Start with a raw bass line like the crunchy cabbage, then add a slow rising pad that simulates the warm air inside the jar. Might use a simple drum loop that clicks like the clink of that old jar. Wish to share thoughts on tempo, maybe 90 bpm, but I could push it to a 4/4 110 if needed. If anyone got any cool samples that remind them of tangy sour? Also open to feedback on sound design. 🎧🍶
