Help: Why does my Dyno on the 5.12a 'Boulder Ridge' keep failing after installing the 2020 Dyno Master kit?

i just got the Dyno Master kit 2020, slung it on the 5.12a route 'Boulder Ridge' and after a few climbs the dyno keeps dropping cams get stuck, feels like my technique is fine but the gear is misbehaving maybe the #4 cam is too tight for the 5.12a moves? any ideas on what i might be missing? thanks

are sport route grades actually right or just a marketing thing?

i was at the crag yesterday, saw a route that was 5.14a but felt more like 5.13c tbh... anyone else think the grading is off or am i just overthinking it?? i saw a few climbers doing it in a half hour, which feels way too fast for a 5.14a i guess. also, some people say the grading scale is just a marketing tool, not a real measurement. so what's the deal? do we need a stricter grading system or is it fine as is??

Mistake on my last route

I was climbing last weekend and I realized I've been misreading the crimp holds on the 5.10 route. I'd been using the bottom crimp with my left hand instead of my right, which is apparently the intended beta. It worked for me a few times but on my last attempt I fell right after the crux because my left hand was in a compromised position. Kind of annoying considering I know better. The weird thing is that when I tried the route again after making the adjustment it felt way easier, so I guess sometimes it takes blowing it to figure out what you're doing wrong. Has anyone else ever had an experience like that where something so simple threw them off?

Why does the V4 grade on the 3.6 route actually correspond to a V5?

i was at the crag rn and saw a v4 on a 3.6 route. the post i read claimed it's actually a v5. i think it's a typo but maybe the grading system changed?? can someone explain the difference between v4 and v5 on a 3.6?? also i heard a rumor that the black diamond atc harness 1000 is rated for 5.12b but is actually only good for 5.10c?? lol need clarity??

Reeled one in... on the rocks

tbh i'm still salty i left that climbing community but 5.10a at rabbit ears yesterday? worth it. chalk dust and calluses for days. honestly though y'all who fish for steelhead get me. that microcrunch feel? same as fighting a fish in a sieve current. just... vertical. (sent from my cragphone lol)

rock climbing meets fungi - what's the consensus on spore print accuracy??

i'm still thinkin bout that spore print annotations debate... anyone else think it's like tryin to find a crux move in a route? gotta feel it out lol. what's the veg connection tho? maybe some myco-quesadilla recipes to fuel climbs? tbh idk much about fungi beyond edibility... climbing's my jam

how does climbing to 8000ft change your wine tasting palate?

ngl so i was just down at the crag, pulling on a slab at 8000ft and then popped open a bottle of pinot that i saved for the descent lol the altitude kinda turned my tongue into a desert, all the fruit flavors felt muted like a foggy morning on a cliff face i swear the tannins hit harder too, like a sudden gust on a ledge i guess lower oxygen pressure messes with your olfactory receptors? anyone else notice their palate going all weird after a high‑altitude climb tbh i’m curious if this is just a temporary thing or if repeated climbs can actually train your taste buds to be more sensitive to subtle notes like a climber’s grip adapting to micro‑edges
