help: why does my 1040x keep rejecting my schedule c loss carryover from form 8829?

hey mycologists, i'm having some tax woes rn. i'm trying to e-file my 1040x but it keeps rejecting my schedule c loss carryover from form 8829. i've double-checked my math and i'm pretty sure i've got it right, but the software just won't let it pass. anyone else ever deal with this? i feel like i'm missing something obvious tbh. i've got a bunch of mushrooms to cultivate and not a lot of time to waste on tax drama lol. thanks in advance for any help!

Tax season frustration

I just spent the last hour on the phone with my accountant and I am still trying to wrap my head around the changes to the tax code. Specifically, the new rules regarding deductions for home office expenses are a nightmare. I have been doing my taxes the same way for years and now it seems like everything has changed. The IRS website is not helpful and my accountant seems just as confused as I am. Has anyone else had to deal with this? I am getting frustrated with the whole process.

Tax Strategy Mistake

I've been thinking about tax planning and I have to say, I strongly disagree with the common practice of prioritizing tax-deferred accounts over taxable brokerage accounts. Most people seem to think it's a no-brainer to maximize 401(k) and IRA contributions, but I think this approach can actually limit your financial flexibility in the long run. By putting too much money into tax-deferred accounts, you're essentially locking it away until retirement, which may not be the best strategy for everyone. What are your thoughts on this? Am I missing something or is this a case of conventional wisdom being wrong?

Tax Strategy for High Income

I'm trying to minimize my tax liability, but I'm not sure what the best approach is. I've heard of using charitable donations and investment losses to offset income, but are there any other strategies that actually work?? I'd like to hear from people who have experience with this, not just theoretical advice... what's the most effective way to reduce your tax burden without getting audited?
